The document demands that Russia cease aggressive war and withdraw all its armed forces from Ukrainian territory.
The UN General Assembly adopted a resolution on Russia’s human rights violations in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. This was announced by Foreign Minister Andrei Sibiga on social network X on Tuesday, December 17.
For the ratification of this document Human rights situation in the temporarily occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol, Ukraine 81 countries voted, 80 abstained.
14 countries voted against the document – Belarus, Burkina Faso, Burundi, China, Cuba, North Korea, Eritrea, Iran, Mali, Nicaragua, Niger, Russia, Sudan and Zimbabwe.
“I thank the UN General Assembly and all member states that adopted a resolution on Russia’s violation of human rights in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. The document demands that Russia cease aggressive war and withdraw all armed forces it from our country’s territory,” wrote Siga.
The minister noted that this year’s document pays special attention to the mistreatment and torture of Ukrainian prisoners of war by Russia and the need for the return of forcibly deported Ukrainian children.
“The international community stands firmly on the side of Ukraine and international law remains unchanged,” he said.

Let’s recall that a former independent UN international commission discovered new evidence of the torture of Ukrainians in Russia and the occupied Ukrainian territories. According to the UN, more than 95% of Ukrainian military personnel were tortured in Russian captivity.
