Municipal deputy Aleksey Gorinov received seven years in prison for speaking out about the war against Ukraine.
The Meshchansky Court of Moscow passed the first sentence on municipal deputy Alexei Gorinov. He was sentenced to seven years in prison for spreading alleged false information about the Russian army. The verdict was handed down on Friday, July 8th.

Investigators opened a criminal case due to the meeting on March 15, at which representatives discussed the appropriateness of holding a competition of children’s drawings, and against it Gorinov, explaining that Russia conducts of the war against Ukraine.
During the talks, deputies also called the war in Ukraine a war, not a “special operation” and announced Russia’s transformation into a “fascist state.”
The investigation noted that the representatives were deliberately using “their official position” against the criminality of Russian troops. And so is the fact that their actions “will cause citizens a sense of anxiety, fear, anxiety and insecurity on the part of the state.”
In court, Gorinov proposed to hold a minute of silence in memory of the deceased citizens of Ukraine, where it rained applause from the audience. As a result, the bailiffs released all those who supported him, and just left the press.
Gorinov was sentenced to seven years in prison.
