In Lviv today, December 15, local plastuns started a new tradition – they lit the Bethlehem Flame of Peace on the Fields of Honorary Burials of the Defenders of Ukraine.
The mayor of Lvov, Andrey Sadovy, announced this in his Telegram channel.
After this, it will be distributed throughout the country. Let this light give new hope, faith in Victory and warm everyone who needs support today! – Sadovy noted.
Every year on Christmas Eve, the international scouting event Bethlehem Light of Peace takes place – the transfer of a symbolic fire from the birthplace of Jesus Christ to all those in need. This fire is a symbol of good deeds and support.
Since 1998, every year Ukrainian scouts take the Fire of Bethlehem from Polish scouts and distribute it throughout Ukraine. This year the program also took place from Slovakian scouts.
