The state provides financial assistance to IDPs in the following amounts: children and disabled people – 3 thousand UAH each, and adults over 18 years of age – 2 thousand UAH each.
About 5 million internally displaced are registered in Ukraine, and about 1,000 Ukrainians have officially returned to the occupied territories. This was stated by the Ministry of Social Policy, writes Radio Liberty.
It is indicated that at the beginning of December 4.9 million IDPs were registered in Ukraine – over the year their number decreased by 250,000 people.
According to the electronic systems of the Ministry of Social Policy, as of November 1, 2024, 29,000 people returned to their old place of residence (about 7.7% of the total number of deregistered).
At the same time, the ministry said, out of 29,000 people, a thousand returned to temporarily occupied territories, and 18.9 to “conditionally safe territories,” and another 9,000 to territories of “possible conflict.”
The ministry clarified that people are returning to safe conditions – Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Chernigov.
It should be noted that experts believe that one of the reasons for people returning to work is the reduction in payments to IDPs and the family’s inability to survive on these funds.
During the presentation of the results of the review of the implementation of the State Policy Strategy on Internal Displacement for the period until 2025, Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmitry Lubinets said that the state policy on internally displaced persons (IDPs) is should be more. effective.
