Blinken at the G20 requested from the Russian Federation to unblock the export of Ukrainian grain

Food security has been one of the main topics of the G20 Foreign Ministers ’meeting.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken asked at the G20 summit that Russia unblock grain exports from Ukraine. This was reported by the Associated Press.

According to journalists, Blinken made the relevant statement at a closed meeting, addressing Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

“I plead with our colleagues in Russia: Ukraine is not your country. Its grain is not your grain. Why are you blocking ports? You must release this grain,” Blinken said.

It is noteworthy that one of the main topics of the meeting of Foreign Ministers of the G20 countries on this occasion was food security.

It will be recalled that earlier the participants of the G20 summit refused to share a photo shoot with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. It was later learned that he would not be taking part in the official meal and working session of the summit on the afternoon of Friday, July 8th.
