The Russians shot 109 prisoners of war in one year

Dmitry Lubinets said that in recent years of mass invasion of Ukraine there were 177 war crimes.

Russian invaders have killed at least 109 Ukrainian prisoners of war since the beginning of 2024. Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmitry Lubinets said this during the telethon.

“Only in 2024, it was possible to officially confirm that the Russians shot 109 Ukrainian prisoners of war,” the ombudsman stressed.

In the last years of Russia’s massive invasion of Ukraine, 177 cases of execution of Ukrainian defenders of the invaders were recorded.

The killing of prisoners of war is a grave violation of the Geneva Conventions and is classified as a serious international crime.

Earlier, Dmitry Lubinets said that Ukraine returned one and a half thousand bodies of dead soldiers in two months.
