The Ukrainian army will receive a batch of Caesar self-propelled artillery units from France and Denmark.
Denmark has allocated additional funds for the purchase of weapons for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Now the key goal is to speed up the transfer of “Caesars” to Ukraine. At first, deliveries of these 155-mm self-propelled guns were planned for 2026, but now they will be transferred to the Ukrainian army in 2025. This was reported by the Danish Ministry of Defense.
Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen noted that the defense industry has shown that it can provide what Ukraine needs. The Danish government will therefore increase the industrial pool so that the last contracts can be signed this year.
According to him, the amount of funds allocated to the industrial pool is more than $360 million. But in the near future this amount will be increased. Deliveries and ammunition for this artillery will also be accelerated. The Ukrainian Armed Forces will be able to receive them next year.
Artillery systems are in great demand in Ukraine, so I am glad that Denmark can now contribute to the fact that Ukraine will receive more artillery shells next year,” Poulsen said.
Let us remind you that the French authorities returned 300 million euros in interest from frozen Russian assets to buy military equipment for Ukraine at the end of this year. For this money, in particular, 12 Caesar self-propelled artillery units were purchased.
