General policy speech. Bourne confirms that the state wants to “keep 100% of EDF’s capital”.

This is an important announcement, the purpose of which is to return control of electricity production to the French state. The state is already the majority shareholder of EDF. according to the group’s figures, it now owns about 83.88% of the total. Individual and institutional shareholders represent an additional 15.03% and employee shareholders 1.06%. Not surprisingly, the announcement boosted the energy company’s stock, which jumped more than 5% on the Paris stock exchange. The Prime Minister’s announcement was also welcomed by the majority as well as elected representatives of the Democratic and Republican Left (GDR) group, including Fabien Roussel, the communist candidate in the previous presidential election.
