Ukraine urgently needs the supply of 20 systems such as HAWK, NASAMS and IRIS-T, recalled department speaker Georgiy Tikhy.
During the meeting, the foreign ministers of NATO countries managed to identify air defense systems that can be transferred to Ukraine as soon as possible. This was announced by the Spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Georgy Tikhy at a press conference.
Among the topics of the meeting was, in particular, military support, especially the strengthening of the Ukrainian “air shield”.
Ukraine urgently needs the supply of 20 systems such as HAWK, NASAMS and IRIS-T to protect critical energy infrastructure facilities. Such strengthening is necessary, preferably before the end of the year, the official said.
“I can say that as a result of the ministerial negotiations at the headquarters of NATO, it is possible to identify (some) such systems, missiles and other equipment that can be transferred to Ukraine in a short time to implement these measures ,” he said.
As you know, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga called on NATO countries to provide an additional 20 air defense systems to protect the energy infrastructure in winter.
Following this, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said that Ukraine’s request for the supply of a large number of air defense systems was positively received by NATO partners.
