A 16-year-old local resident was detained in Chernigov for helping Russia prepare a new air strike on the region.
The detainee worked for Russian military intelligence (better known as the game) and was in direct contact with its personnel officer, with whom she communicated through an anonymous chat in the messenger. This was reported today, December 4, by the press service of the SBU and the Chernihiv regional prosecutor’s office.
To bypass Ukrainian air defense, the agent had to identify and transmit to the aggressor the coordinates of anti-aircraft missile systems and radar stations of the Ukrainian Armed Forces defending the border region, the SBU said.
It is noted that:
- the suspect agreed to the proposal of a representative of the aggressor state to collect data on the location of Ukrainian Armed Forces units and military facilities on the territory of Chernigov and nearby settlements in November 2024;
- to secrecy reconnaissance forays, she ordered a taxi in which she went around the area and secretly recorded the objects she needed;
- after such trips, the person involved returned home, where she generated an intelligence report for her Russian curator in the form of media files with the “necessary” geolocations;
- The woman transferred the photographic and video recordings of the locations of military installations and the area near them to the curator for a monetary reward using the Telegram messenger;
- the attacker received money for the “work done” on a bank card;
- The military counterintelligence of the SBU exposed the Russian agent, documented her crimes and caught her “red-handed” while she was photographing a defense facility.
During the searches, a mobile phone was confiscated from the detainee, red-handed for reconnaissance and subversive activities in favor of Russia, the SBU noted.
Based on the collected evidence, she was informed of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code (high treason committed under martial law).
The attacker is in custody. She faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property, the SBU said.
