Senators are concerned about allegations of sexual harassment and alcohol abuse against Pete Hegseth.

Six Republican senators do not support the candidacy of Pete Hegseth, who was nominated by US President-elect Donald Trump to lead the Pentagon. NBC News reported it.

Senators are concerned about allegations of sexual misconduct against Hegseth, as well as reports of his possible alcohol abuse and financial neglect.

The network said that to be confirmed, Hegseth could only lose three votes from Republican senators, provided all Democratic senators voted against him.

GOP Sen. Jonnie Ernst that he does not support Hegseth’s candidacy and plans to question him about the allegations against him.

“We’re just going to have a really frank and thorough conversation,” he explained.

At the same time, some Republican senators continue to play down the allegations against Hegseth, saying they support Trump’s prerogative to choose his own administration.

Let’s remember that several current and former Pentagon officials are concerned about Donald Trump’s intentions to appoint Fox News host and veteran Pete Hegseth as head of the department.
