The Chairman of the Board of NJSC Naftogaz is considered as a candidate for the post of Minister of Ukrainian Unity, the Verkhovna Rada said.

The government plans to create a new Ministry of Unity of Ukrainians, and it may be headed by the Chairman of the Board of Naftogaz, Alexey Chernyshev. RBC-Ukraine reported this with reference to a source in the Verkhovna Rada on Tuesday, December 3.

“Alexei Chernyshev is being considered as a candidate for the head of the Ministry of Ukrainian Unity,” said a media source.


Alexey Chernyshev holds the position of Chairman of the Board of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine since November 4, 2022.

Prior to that, he served as Minister of Community and Territorial Development.

As reported, President Vladimir Zelensky said that an institution will be created in Ukraine that will unite Ukrainians abroad and help counter Russian narratives – the Ministry of Unity of Ukrainians.
