France and Great Britain are considering the possibility of stationing their troops in Ukraine to provide security in the event of peace negotiations with Russia.
A senior NATO official told Radio Liberty.
We are talking about stationing the military on the demarcation line to monitor the ceasefire that can be achieved as a result of negotiations. The discussion is taking place at the level of individual capitals, not NATO.
The development of specific support options is also necessary to ensure the participation of European allies in peace negotiations between Ukraine and Russia through the mediation of the Donald Trump administration, the source told Radio Liberty.
Rakurs reported earlier that five French deputies called on the Minister of Defense to send instructors to Ukraine.
The severity of the fighting and growing Russian pressure in the Donbass lead us to believe that the training currently being conducted by the military in France and Poland should be continued on Ukrainian soil. We support the proposal to create a European coalition to send military instructors to Ukraine. Today, France could take a leading role in this coalition along with the armies of Great Britain, Poland, the Baltic countries and Scandinavia, the report says.
