US President Joe Biden pardoned his son Gunther Biden.
The American leader signed the corresponding pardon on Monday, December 2. Gunther Biden recently faced sentencing for crimes related to gun trafficking and tax evasion. The official pardon cannot be revoked by the newly elected President of the United States of America, Donald Trump. This was reported on the White House website and CNN.
Today I signed a pardon for my son Gunther. “From the day I took office, I said I would not interfere with Department of Justice decisions, and I kept my word, even as I watched my son be selectively and unfairly prosecuted,” the statement said.
CNN writes that Biden broke a public promise he made before and after leaving the 2024 presidential race. Then he promised that he would not spare Gunter Biden and would not commute his sentence.
The error means Gunther Biden will not be convicted of his crimes. The decision taken excludes any possibility of its conclusion, which was possible before.
Gunter Biden himself has already stated that after the pardon he will devote his life to helping people with addiction.
