In Iceland, the Social Democratic Alliance party won the largest number of parliamentary seats in Iceland’s first elections. This was reported by the Iceland Monitor.

The party has 15 out of 63 seats.
The conservative Independence Party received 15.8%, gained six more seats, and currently has 11 deputies.
The People’s Party was in third place with 13.8% of the votes (ten deputies).
The Icelandic Parliament also includes the Center Party (eight deputies) and the Progressive Party (five deputies).
In the first part of the parliamentary elections, the coalition parties lost 18 seats.
Note that in the spring, the Icelandic parliament – the Althing – overwhelmingly approved a resolution on long-term support for Ukraine for 2024-2028.
In Romania, pro-Russian far-right politician Calin Georgescu won the presidential election in the first round.
