Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, radio engineering troops have recorded almost a million air targets.
The press service of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this today, November 30, Radio Engineering Troops Day.
The Air Force notes that behind the phrase “…this night the radio engineering troops detected more than 150 air targets” in the morning reports lies the hard and dangerous work of radar units dispersed throughout Ukraine:
- they never go down to cover during enemy attacks, because their task is to identify a hostile target as quickly as possible and issue this information to command posts;
- Having received data about enemy targets, aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, mobile fire groups, activating their means of electronic warfare units enter the battle;
- the entire country receives a warning about the danger and the map turns red.
In particular, since the beginning of a full-scale war, radio engineering troops have detected and escorted more than 345 thousand people. such hostile purposes:
- 175 thousand aircraft;
- 100 thousand helicopters;
- 57 thousand UAVs;
- over 13 thousand missiles of various types.
Now many soldiers of the radio technical troops of the Air Force are actively participating in combat operations, side by side with their brothers they defend the country from the aggressor, every day and every night as part of mobile fire groups they destroy enemy drones and missiles, the Air Force notes.
