The Podolsk bridge over the Dnieper River will be opened in Kyiv on December 1.
This coming Sunday, authorities will allow passenger cars and urban passenger transport to cross this bridge. This decision was supported by the Kyiv Defense Council. The mayor of Kyiv, Vitaliy Klitschko, announced this on November 27 in Telegram.
The mayor emphasized that the Podolsk bridge crossing remains closed for heavy vehicles. Currently, only special vehicles and passenger buses on route 111 are allowed to cross the bridge.
Klitschko promised that work on the improvement and arrangement of the nearby territory, near the new tunnel, will be completed by the end of the year. These works will not interfere with traffic flow.
As you know, the Podolsko-Voskresensky bridge is one of the largest transport infrastructure facilities in Kyiv and Ukraine, under construction since 1993. According to the plan, it should connect the section with the residential areas of Voskresenka, Raduzhny and Troeshchina.
Let us remind you that in May a wave bridge was opened in Kyiv connecting Natalka Park and Obolonsky Island. This pedestrian crossing in the capital Obolon was supposed to be opened back in 2022, but the beginning of a full-scale invasion made its own adjustments.
