There are almost equal numbers of supporters and opponents of continued aid to Kyiv in the United States – 49% and 51%, respectively.
The American people are divided on the issue of military support for Ukraine. This was confirmed by the results of a CBS/YouGov poll released on November 25.
Specifically, 49% of respondents said that military support should continue, while 51% were against it. Social scientists say it highlights further divisions in American society on the issue, but point to an erosion of support.
The erosion is obvious when compared to the summer data. A poll conducted by the Pew Research Center found that 54% of respondents were in favor of extending US military aid to Kyiv. According to a poll by the Reagan Institute, 57% of respondents were in favor of aid.
Another question asked in the CBS/YouGov poll: the priority of American aid to Kyiv. For 33% it is a high priority issue, another 36% say it is a moderate priority, and for 31% it is not a priority at all.
Earlier, the Pentagon confirmed plans to supply Ukraine with anti-personnel mines to deter Russian advances.
