The UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine documented 376 cases of war-related sexual violence between February 24, 2022 and August 31, 2024. This was stated in the message of the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine.
In total, HRMMU recorded 376 cases of sexual violence involving 262 men, 104 women, ten women and two men.
This type of gender-based violence has been found to affect people of all ages and both sexes, with more than half of the documented cases involving men – mainly those subjected to torture in captivity in the temporarily occupied territory or in the Russian Federation.
“Sexual violence is a violation of international human rights, humanitarian and criminal law. Preventing this type of violence and bringing perpetrators to justice is a shared responsibility based on states’ human rights obligations,” the statement said.

It was previously reported that Ukrainian law enforcement officials have documented more than 300 cases of sexual violence by the Russian military against women, men and minors.
