The main topic of the negotiations among the G7 ministers was the strengthening of support for Ukraine against the backdrop of the recent aggressive measures of Russia.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga will visit Italy on November 25-26, where the G7 ministerial meeting will be held. The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported this on Monday.
So, today the head of the department will hold a series of bilateral negotiations with his Italian colleague Antoni Tajani, head of EU diplomacy Josep Borrell and the foreign ministers of countries in the Global South.
Sibiga is expected to take part in a special session of the G7 ministerial meeting dedicated to Ukraine on November 26.
He will also participate in several bilateral talks with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrault, Canadian Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly, as well as German Foreign Minister Annalena Bärbock.
As noted by the department, the main topic of the negotiations is the strengthening of support for our state against the backdrop of recent aggressive measures by Russia, including the participation of North Korean troops in the aggression, the shelling of Ukraine using the medium- range ballistic missiles, air terror against civilians, critical infrastructure and energy systems.
Sibiga said that he has had negotiations with the foreign ministers of India and Qatar.
Earlier, Andriy Sibiga confirmed the meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Council. It was triggered by Russia’s attack on the Dnieper with the Oreshnik medium-range ballistic missile.
