The armored vehicles were supposed to be delivered by the end of the year, but so far Ukraine has received only 26 units out of the 400 promised.
Germany has transferred only 6.5% of the promised mine-resistant armored fighting vehicles (AFV) to Ukraine. They were promised to be handed over to the Ukrainian Armed Forces in October, but then the deadline was postponed until the end of the year. Bild reported this on Saturday, November 23.
It is indicated that the cars were manufactured by the German company Flensburger Fahrzeugbau GmbH (FFG). 315 million euros were allocated from the German budget for their production.
According to BILD, Germany has currently delivered only 26 armored vehicles out of 400 promised to Ukraine. The German Ministry of Defense predicts that the remaining vehicles will be delivered by 2025.
When asked by reporters, the German military responded that the deliveries were delayed due to “untimely US approval for the export of vehicle parts” and “the exclusive responsibility of FFG.”
We remind you that on November 20, Germany announced a new package of weapons for Ukraine. This includes weapons and ammunition, hundreds of drones of various types and other equipment.
Germany also confirmed its intention to transfer Mini-Taurus to Ukraine – 4,000 drones equipped with artificial intelligence, capable of overcoming enemy electronic warfare systems and attacking enemy targets at a distance of up to 40 km.
