Lithuania has allocated the first 10 million euros for the production of Ukrainian long-range weapons.
This was announced on November 23 by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov.
The first tranche in support of Ukrainian DeepStrike will be transferred in the near future, the Minister of Defense emphasized.
The corresponding Memorandum was signed today in Vilnius with my friend, Minister of Defense Laurynas Kasciunas,” Umerov wrote on his social networks.
Lithuania is allocating 10 million to the production of Ukrainian long-range weapons, in particular, the Palyanitsa project.
The Lithuanian side is already working on finalizing bureaucratic procedures; the first tranche in support of Ukrainian DeepStrike will be transferred in the near future,” the minister added.
On November 22, Umerov was in Stockholm, where he signed a similar agreement with Sweden. Sweden will finance the production of Ukrainian long-range drones according to the “Danish model”. This is what Umerov said after a meeting with his colleague Paul Johnson.
Defense ministers discussed plans for funding aid to Ukraine for 2025.
We are working to ensure that this support is even greater and meets the real needs of our defenders. A separate focus is equipping the teams. We are finalizing agreements with our Nordic partners,” Umerov concluded.
Jonson said that Sweden is ready to cooperate with partners and allies to further develop and increase Ukraine’s long-range capabilities, because, according to him, Ukraine should have everything it needs to defend itself. He recalled that Sweden did not impose any restrictions on the use of Swedish weapons for Ukraine.
