Sweden will finance the production of long-range drones in Ukraine.
Financing for the production of long-range UAVs will take place according to the “Danish model”. This became known following a meeting between Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov and Swedish Defense Minister Paul Johnson in Sweden. The head of the Ukrainian defense department announced this on Facebook.
This is another step towards strengthening Ukraine’s defense capability, which demonstrates the trust of our partners in our military-industrial potential, the minister noted.
Umerov and Jonson also discussed plans for financing assistance to Ukraine for 2025. Separately, the negotiations concerned the equipment of brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Let us remind you that on November 15 it became known that Norway will finance the production of Ukrainian weapons and equipment. Oslo will join the so-called Danish support format – direct financing of production in Ukraine. And on 19 it became known that Denmark will allocate 130 million euros for the development of the Ukrainian military-industrial complex.
In total, thanks to the Danish model, the Ukrainian defense industry has already attracted more than a billion dollars from partners.
