Tehran condemned the adoption of the IAEA resolution as “a politically motivated, unrealistic and counterproductive move.”
The Iranian authorities, in response to the adoption by the board of directors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) of a resolution in the country, will launch advanced centrifuges for uranium enrichment. The IRNA agency reported this on Friday, November 22, citing the statement of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) and the country’s Foreign Ministry.
“The head of the AEOI ordered effective measures to be taken, including the launch of many new and improved centrifuges of various types,” the statement said.
It stated that these measures will be taken to “protect the country’s interests and further develop the peaceful nuclear industry in accordance with growing national needs and within the framework of Iran’s rights and obligations under the Comprehensive Safeguards Agreement.” .”
The AEOI and the Foreign Ministry condemned the adoption of the IAEA resolution as “a politically motivated, unrealistic and counterproductive step.”
It noted that Iran remains ready for “constructive engagement with relevant parties based on international legal principles and norms.”
It was earlier reported that the IAEA Board of Directors adopted a resolution condemning Iran for its failure to fully cooperate with the agency on the nuclear issue.
Nineteen members of the IAEA’s board of directors voted in favor of the resolution, while Russia, China and Burkina Faso opposed, 12 abstained and one did not vote.
The resolution was presented by the United States, France, Germany and Great Britain.
Let’s remember that Iran has once again increased its uranium reserves, enriched almost to weapons-grade levels. This is contrary to international requirements.
The media also reported that Iran’s nuclear program is military-oriented. Intelligence services indicate that Tehran is preparing plans to create nuclear weapons.
