The diplomat emphasized that President Vladimir Zelensky established direct personal contact with Trump – after the election in the United States, the politicians had a telephone conversation.
“During this conversation, they agreed to take practical steps to establish communications between the teams, and this work has begun in a practical sense,” said the minister.
He noted that the Ukrainian side hopes for a fruitful dialogue with the new administration of the White House. Work also continues in the Biden administration. In particular, Kyiv expects that all weapons, macro-financial and other aid promised by States will be transferred by the end of 2024.
“I met with Secretary of State Blinken in Brussels, and after these meetings we have progress in the areas discussed,” emphasized Sibiga.
Earlier, the head of the Ukrainian diplomatic department called for recognizing the actions of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine as genocide.
