The new US move was made in response to Russia’s escalation of hostilities in Ukraine, the French president said.
US President Joe Biden made the right decision by allowing Ukraine to use American weapons to strike Russian territory. This is what French leader Emmanuel Macron said on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Rio de Janeiro, Politico reported on Tuesday, November 19.
According to the French president, Biden’s new move was made in response to Russia’s escalation in the conflict in Ukraine involving soldiers from North Korea.
“Russia is the only state that has taken a decision on the increase… this is the gap that led to the US decision,” Macron said.
Earlier, the media reported that US President Joe Biden, two months before the end of his presidential term, for the first time allowed Ukraine to use ATACMS to protect the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk region of Russia.
France said allowing Ukraine to strike military targets on Russian territory remains an option on the agenda.
