The Russian attack in the Volchansky direction was stopped by Ukrainian border guards.
The enemy moved forward to the position held by the fighters of the Kramatorsk border detachment. Before this, the invaders fired from heavy 120-mm mortars. After this, the Russian command sent two infantry squads to the assault, supported by two infantry fighting vehicles. Minister of Internal Affairs Igor Klimenko announced this on November 17 in Telegram.
The Russians tried to enter from the left flank, and the battle lasted more than two hours. The border guards were able to destroy two enemy infantry fighting vehicles and 12 attack aircraft. Only two occupiers who were taken prisoner survived the attack.
Let us remind you that the Russian army tried to carry out a massive assault on the position of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region, but lost 17 units of equipment. At the same time, about 30% of enemy equipment exploded on Ukrainian mines when trying to advance.
