Ukraine has ordered tens of thousands of killer drones with artificial intelligence.
The Wall Street Journal writes that such drones are equipped with the Skynode system from the American Auterion, which uses AI for computer vision.
Skynode is a fist-sized mini computer and flight controller. The processor is placed inside drones produced by Ukrainian companies.
This technology helps to avoid obstacles from electronic warfare. Other advantages of the system include the ability to control a swarm of drones and fully autonomous flight.
In addition, the Armed Forces of Ukraine already use drones with guidance via fiber optic cable, which also protects against the effects of electronic warfare.
Kyiv will receive tens of thousands of Skynodes; drones equipped with them are planned to be used on the battlefield at the beginning of next year.
Ukrainian companies are already testing the integration of such mini-computers into drones and are preparing to produce robotic drones on an industrial scale.
It is believed that such drones will be able to overcome Russian electronic warfare systems because they use computer vision technology, which cannot be suppressed by signal jamming systems.
