At the end of October, NSDC Secretary Alexander Litvinenko said that more than a million citizens had already been mobilized into the Defense Forces and, according to him, it was planned to conscript more than 160 thousand more people, which should ensure that military units were staffed to 85%.
President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky commented on this statement in a recent interview with Ukrainian Radio, the RBC-Ukraine agency reports.
According to Zelensky, he is surprised that the National Security and Defense Council announced the figures for mobilization plans. The President believes that one cannot rely only on numbers.
Saying an exact number is wrong. I am surprised by the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council. I didn’t know that he was spreading this information,” he noted.
Zelensky added that he does not agree with the numbers, since it is impossible to talk about an exact number, because there are questions and tasks.
If there are not enough people at the front, this is the answer, whether hundreds of thousands of people have mobilized or not. Do I know how many were mobilized after this law? Yes. Is it enough? No. Why? Well, because the most important thing is people. I would like for such steps to be done wisely. Therefore, if there is not enough, then no one has mobilized half a million,” Zelensky emphasized.
