The Russian offensive will be stopped by the reserve brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, whose training has been completed, the president said.
The main reason for the Russian advance in eastern Ukraine remains the slow staffing of the Ukrainian Armed Forces brigades and, as a result, delays in the rotation of depleted units. President Vladimir Zelensky said this in an interview with Suspilny, published on Saturday, November 16.
“In the east, the situation is really difficult, but nevertheless, the pressure and advance of the Russians. For various reasons our brigades are being filled with ready and trained people, replenishing and equipping the all these processes are quite slow,” he said.
According to Zelensky, Ukraine has been waiting a year for the delivery of some weapons. And the reason for the delay in the rotation of the brigade is due to the lack of units.
“We talked (with Western partners – ed.) about the number of these teams, we had an agreement on the number of all these teams,” said the head of the country.
He remembered that advancing the front had a high price for the Russians and that a sustained offensive with such losses was impossible. In some directions their progress has slowed down.
“Now, to stop them, the reserves will arrive, complete brigades, which we have been waiting for a long time but we must understand what the “Russians” want who are fighting in a state that does not value people, that has no care how many die,” – Zelensky noted.
We remind you that Vladimir Zelensky believes that the war will end sooner under the administration of the US President-elect Donald Trump.
