To ensure the effectiveness of the assistance, the United States and Ukraine maintain constant contact, including at the level of the heads of the Ministries of Defense, the Pentagon spokesman added.
The Pentagon is determined to ensure that the remaining $7.1 billion in military aid from previously approved funding by Congress is sent to Ukraine through the end of the current administration of President Joe Biden. For this purpose, shipments will be made weekly. This was announced on Thursday, November 14, by Deputy Representative of the US Department of Defense, Sabrina Singh.
He explained that the Pentagon will allocate weapons packages to Kyiv as supplies are replenished.
“As we continue to increase our own stockpiles, you will see further transfers of arms to Ukraine,” a Pentagon spokesman said.
Singh noted that there are less than 70 days left before the new administration takes over the White House.
“However, even in this short time, the Pentagon” can do incredible work. We will work hard to ensure it,” Singh said.
He noted that recently the United States has been providing large aid packages to Ukraine on a weekly basis.
“So I expect that in the coming months of this administration, you will continue to see these packages being allocated from our existing stockpile,” Singh said.
In addition, according to him, weapons will be provided to Ukraine as part of the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI), which provides for the development of new weapons for the Armed Forces of Ukraine at American enterprises. So, according to Singh, the weapons available at the Pentagon will be sent quickly.
US President Joe Biden’s administration plans to appeal to Congress about additional funding for Ukraine for 2025. US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan announced this in a briefing.
