A court in Tbilisi rejected all claims by the Georgian opposition regarding the non-recognition of the results of the parliamentary elections.
We are talking about 11 claims.
The plaintiffs alleged violations of the secrecy of voting. In particular, the applicants were the coalitions “Unity – National Movement”, “Strong Georgia” and the “Association of Young Lawyers of Georgia”.
The opposition claims that on election day the election administration replaced branded markers, resulting in marks visible on the outside of the ballots. Therefore, the plaintiffs demanded that the final protocols of the district election commissions be considered invalid due to a violation of the secrecy of voting.
At the same time, the CEC stated that this is “a complete lie aimed at misleading the public.” As a result, during the hearing the judge declared all complaints unfounded.
On November 13, representatives of two opposition parties refused to become deputies, considering the election results illegitimate. The Central Election Commission says that they will still have to take a deputy mandate in order to refuse it.
