In the first half of 2022, Russians began to buy antidepressants more often. In particular, sales of these drugs have more than doubled compared to the same period in 2021. This was announced on Wednesday, July 6, by the Russian news agency TASS with reference to the Center for the Development of Advanced Technologies.
The report says the demand for the following antidepressants has grown significantly: Sertraline (+113%), Fluoxetine (+90%), Escitalopram (+79%).
The Russians bought nearly six million units of antidepressants in the first half of 2022 at a cost of 3.6 billion rubles. This is 87% more than the same period last year (1.9 billion rubles). At the same time, in the six months of 2021, antidepressant purchases will be 3.6 million units.
The highest demand for antidepressants is observed in the following regions of Russia:

Because residents buy the least amount of medicine:

As reported, in the Russian Federation, the demand for medicines, both foreign and domestic, is growing.
