For the assassination attempt, the enemy agent planned to use improvised explosive devices or kamikaze drones.
Cyber specialists of the Security Service detained an agent of the Russian military intelligence (GRU) in Chernigov, who was engaged in arranging fires and burning cars, and then was counted in the activities of the elimination of the military of Ukraine . The SBU press service reported this on Wednesday, November 13.
The enemy agent turned out to be a 45-year-old unemployed local, an ideological supporter of racism. He was noticed by the occupiers because of his pro-Russian comments in Telegtam.
First, on the orders of the GRU, a man set fire to a military pickup truck and a transformer substation in Chernigov. After that, he received the task of correcting enemy attacks in the northern region.
To do this, the man rented apartments with panoramic views of the defense and civilian facilities. The enemy is most interested in the repair bases of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and medical institutions where wounded Ukrainian soldiers are treated.
Additionally, as the defendant admitted to SBU officers, he told the Russian handler that he was ready for the physical extermination of Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers. For the assassination attempt, the agent planned to use improvised explosive devices or kamikaze drones.
The SBU intercepted the enemy’s intentions and detained the agent. During the searches, a mobile phone and a computer used to communicate with the GRU were confiscated from the man.
Security Service investigators informed the attacker of their suspicions. The man is in custody. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of assets.
We would like to remind you that earlier the SBU detained an FSB agent in the Kharkov region who was correcting Russian missile, bomb and artillery strikes on Ukrainian troops defending Kupyansk.
