The head of SpaceX and Tesla will be the head of the new Department of Government Effectiveness (DOGE). This newly created ministry will deal with the fight against bureaucracy in government agencies.
Together, these two great Americans will pave the way for my administration to dismantle government bureaucracy, reduce excessive regulation, cut wasteful spending and restructure federal agencies, he said.
Trump said the new department would be the potential “Manhattan Project of our time” and “should displace the massive waste and fraud that exists throughout our $6.5 trillion in annual government spending.”
The work of Musk and Ramaswami, according to Trump, should be completed no later than July 4, 2026.
