On November 9, the General Staff responded to the reproaches of blogger and volunteer Sergei Sternenko regarding the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Syrsky. In fact, they didn’t explain or object to anything.
In short, they said the following:
- The Armed Forces of Ukraine highly appreciate the help of volunteers. This kind of help is vital. This also applies to Sternenko.
- At the same time, they remind you: mobilization is carried out by the TCC, which has the right to serve summons on all those liable for military service.
- The duty to defend the country is a constitutional duty of citizens.
- And if there are health problems, then the issue of suitability is resolved at the VLK.
- A large number of public activists and volunteers have joined the Armed Forces and are fulfilling their constitutional duty.
At the same time, the mobilization of specific citizens is carried out by decision of the territorial centers of recruitment and social support, which have the right to serve summonses on those liable for military service to clarify credentials, undergo medical examinations and mobilization, the message added.
Earlier, volunteer and blogger Sternenko said that putting him on the wanted list for allegedly failing to appear at the TCC was a “direct order” from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Syrsky.
The story of my search is a direct order from Syrsky, who was offended by the demands for army reform. I know this for sure, and exactly when and through whom he gave this instruction.
By the way, he did this only on the second try. The trigger was a discreet statement on October 27, where I directly said that we are in a situation close to a catastrophe due to an inadequate troop control system,” Sternenko wrote.
