Border guards from the Viloki department of the Mukachevo detachment detained five men who tried to cross the Hungarian border illegally. The press service of the State Border Guard Service reported this on Sunday, November 9.
While on patrol, law enforcement noticed a group of people moving toward the border and detained them as they prepared to board a boat. The men tried to swim across the Tisa, but the boat was too small for everyone.
Some intruders even tried to jump into the river to overcome the obstacle itself, but border guards quickly pulled them out of the water.
The violators, residents of several regions of Ukraine, said that each of them paid from $8,000 to $11,000 to unknown people for the crossing.
