Law enforcement officials of Ukraine conducted a large-scale special operation to eliminate an international drug syndicate. The SBU reported this on Friday, November 8.
“In seven regions of our state, 17 members of the group were exposed. At the same time, two drug laboratories were liquidated, which produced more than 100 kg of drugs monthly, including particularly dangerous psychotropics – PVP and mephedrone,” the report said. .
The investigation established that the attackers sold goods in Ukraine, and also brought them in bulk to Europe and the South Caucasus under the guise of children’s toys and food products.
At the same time, the defendants established extensive contacts with the foreign drug mafia and supplied cocaine, LSD, MDMA, cannabis and other drugs to Ukraine, which were sold through specially created Telegram channels.
“One of them is one of the top five most popular online stores that sell drugs in different regions of our state,” the SBU emphasized.
The National Police clarified that the grandson and his grandfather established a “business”, which attracted several dozen more accomplices.
During the searches, approximately 40 kg of drugs and psychotropics, as well as approximately 1,000 liters of precursors, hashish oil and marijuana extract, were seized from the detainees. The value of the seized items at “black market” prices is 20 million hryvnias.
Packaging devices, mobile phones, computer equipment, notebooks and other evidence of criminal activity were also found.
The defendants were charged with suspicion under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. They face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of assets.
Earlier in Kyiv, a drug dealer was detained with “products” worth 8 million hryvnias. The sale of narcotic drugs in the capital was organized by a resident of Cherkassy.
It was also reported that they tried to deliver cocaine to Ukraine under the guise of washing powder. The suspects were detained while delivering a parcel to a customer in Odessa.
