In the capital of the Netherlands, unknown people attacked street fans from Israel who came to a match between football clubs Ajax and Maccabi (Tel Aviv). The Times of Israel reported this on the evening of Friday, November 8.
It was noted that after the end of the meeting, Israeli fans were attacked, including with knives.
Videos appearing on social media showed brutal attacks by masked attackers, some carrying Palestinian flags and chanting “free Palestine.”
Social networks reported that several kidnapping attempts were recorded. People were beaten, thrown into rivers, hit by cars, and destroyed in the hotels they were staying at.
According to unconfirmed reports, more than 30 Israeli residents were injured as a result of the pogroms, and two people are missing.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered two planes to Amsterdam to bring back the Israelis.
He also called on Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schuf and local security forces to “act decisively and quickly against the attackers and ensure the welfare of our citizens.”
