Most Germans are in favor of early elections

In Germany, 53% of respondents support early elections amid political instability, according to ARD data. This was reported by Tagesschau on Thursday, November 7.

The majority of Germans are in favor of holding early parliamentary elections against the backdrop of the country’s coalition crisis. Thus, 53% of respondents support the idea of ​​new elections.

Significant support for early elections comes from supporters of extreme parties such as the far-right populist AfN (88%) and Sarah Wagenknecht’s new Alliance (82%). These parties are gaining popularity, especially in Germany’s eastern states, where support for early elections stands at 60% compared to 52%. at sunset.

Among traditional parties, support for new elections is highest among Christian Democratic Union supporters (68%), while SPD and Green voters are less open to change (25% and 18% respectively ).

According to a preliminary survey, 85% of citizens are not satisfied with the work of the current government. The highest rating among politicians goes to Defense Minister Boris Pistorius (55%), CDU leader Friedrich Merz (30%) and Sarah Wagenknecht (24%). Chancellor Olaf Scholz received only 19% support, as did Free Democrats leader Christian Lindner and AfN co-leader Alice Weidel.
