The record of cocaine seizures was obtained in Spain

At the port of Algeciras, customs officials and the Spanish National Police seized a record 13,062 kg of cocaine in banana containers imported from Ecuador. This was reported by El Mundo on Wednesday, November 6.

This is the largest seizure of this drug to date in the history of drug trafficking in Spain.

The estimated cost is estimated from 400 to 780 million euros.

One person has been arrested so far, although more may have been arrested. There are also several other people under investigation who may be linked to the designated Spanish importer of the bananas. This is a man from the area of ​​El Campello (Alicante) who four years ago founded a company that received a lot of fruit from Ecuador.

The police became suspicious because the business that seemed to be operating in the market was not making any money.

The investigation lasted several years. During this period, five raids and searches were carried out on homes and offices in Alicante and Madrid, where a large amount of documentation was seized and is now being examined.

The two people responsible for the importing company are wanted and work is being carried out in collaboration with the Ecuadorian police to complete the operation and dismantle this criminal network.

Currently, it has been transferred to Investigative Court No. 3 of the city of Algeciras were seized, including the detainee.

It was previously reported that three tons of cocaine were found in Ecuador in boxes with bananas for Russia. The cargo is planned to be delivered to the port of St. Petersburg.
