The representatives offered the head of the State Medical Administration $100 thousand for the merger of the two medical institutions, which would provide an increase in funding.
An indictment was sent to the court against two representatives of the Sumy Regional Council, who in March of this year were caught offering and giving 100 thousand dollars of illegal benefits to the head of the military administration of the city of Sumy. This was reported by the SAPS press service on Tuesday, November 5.
It was established that the representatives offered the head of the State Medical Academy 100 thousand dollars for the merger of the two medical institutions, which would provide an increase in funding, as well as for the retention of one of the people who gave inappropriate benefits as the head of this affiliated hospital.
In addition, these individuals proposed to the head of the State Medical Administration to allocate almost UAH 59 million to finance a health institution headed by one of the suspects for the purchase of work and equipment, the cost of which was deliberately inflated by 10-20 %. It will amount to an overpayment of almost 7 million UAH with the intention of acquiring it in the future.
It is noted that the deputies were detained in the area immediately after they gave the first part of the agreed funds – 50 thousand dollars.
The actions are qualified under Part 3 of Art. 369 and part 1 of Art. 14, part 5 art. 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
