The second death due to mushrooms was registered in the Ternopil region

In the Chertkiv region, the police recorded two deaths as a result of mushroom poisoning. Ternopil regional police reported this on Tuesday, November 5.

A man born in 1965 died in hospital as a result of food poisoning from mushrooms on November 1, and his partner’s young daughter died the next day.

According to preliminary information, a large family was poisoned by mushrooms.

During the inspection, it was learned that on Sunday, October 27, the man collected mushrooms and prepared food from them. The whole family ate except mom. That same night, the children’s health worsened, but the woman went to the hospital on October 30 at about 15:00.

“The heaviest child was taken to a medical facility in Lvov, where the youngest girl, born in 2021, was operated on, however, it was not possible to save her life,” the message said.

It was noted that seven minors are being treated in Kyiv. Their condition is stable and serious.

In this fact, proceedings were opened in accordance with Article 166 (malicious failure to fulfill child care responsibilities) and Article 115 marked “accident” of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The investigation is ongoing.

Let’s recall that it was reported that eight children and one adult were poisoned by mushrooms in the Chertkovsky district of the Ternopil region. Then the whole family from the city of Kopychintsy ended up in a medical facility. Among the victims are eight children from three to 17 years old, seven of whom are siblings, as well as their mother’s companion.

It was previously reported that in the Volyn region, a 26-year-old pregnant woman was poisoned by mushrooms and lost her child.
