The scheme for draft dodgers in the Rivne region was organized by a policeman and the headman.
The headman of one of the districts of the Radivilovsky community and a local law enforcement officer, when issuing summonses, offered clients a scheme to avoid mobilization. The policeman opened fictitious criminal proceedings, which provided for the possibility of a suspended sentence and allowed conscripts to temporarily avoid being called up for mobilization. The Rivne Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported this on November 4 on Facebook.
This service cost approximately 2 thousand dollars. However, the cost increased if the person liable for military service was wanted.
The prosecutor’s office noted that the scheme was exposed in May of this year and the policeman has already been dismissed from his position.
The attackers are charged under Art. 114-1 (obstruction of the legitimate activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations during a special period) of the Criminal Code, as well as incitement to provide and receive unlawful benefits.
Old age faces prison for a period of five to eight years, and a police officer faces from five to ten years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years, with confiscation of property.
Let us remind you that in the Odessa region a fraudulent scheme for evading mobilization was exposed: doctors and officials, in exchange for bribes, granted disability to those who wanted to avoid conscription in this way. Law enforcement officials identified 42 military personnel who took advantage of this scheme.
