Slovak President Peter Pellegrini has rejected all four citizen requests for permission to serve in the Ukrainian army received since June. European Truth reported this on Monday, November 4.
Let’s remember that previously many approvals of such applications were given by the former head of state Zuzana Caputova, who was in office at the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.

During the presidential campaign, Pellegrini supported Prime Minister Robert Fico’s position on stopping the supply of arms to Ukraine from the state reserve, despite the fact that he previously supported military aid to Kyiv.
Let’s remember that Pellegrini previously pointed out the differences in the views of the leaders of European countries on the issue of negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to NATO.
At the same time, Slovakia is taking part in the Czech initiative to buy ammunition for Ukraine – in particular, the purchased ammunition is being modernized in Slovak factories.
