Fences have been installed around key buildings in Washington in case of possible unrest amid the elections.
In particular, in the area of the White House, the Capitol and the residence of Vice President Kamala Harris. Local businesses are also boarding up windows and doors and beefing up private security. Washington noted that there are no threats to the capital yet.
Today, November 5th, the US presidential elections will be held. More than 75 million citizens have already voted early. That’s nearly half the total number of voters in 2020.
Now the Democratic candidate Kamala Harris and the Republican candidate Donald Trump have equal chances – 49% of the vote each, according to the final poll of voters from the NBC News television company.
Another 2% of voters are undecided.
The survey once again demonstrated the complete polarization of Americans, who, two days before the election, clearly decided on their candidate and are not going to change their minds. However, regardless of who wins the presidential election, 60% of voters believe the country will remain divided.
