The population of five countries around the world supports Russia in the war with Ukraine.
The British magazine The Economist, together with the consulting company GlobeScan, conducted a survey in which 30 thousand people from 29 countries and Hong Kong took part. 54% of citizens surveyed from around the world said that they would like Ukraine to win the war against Russia. This is reported on the publication’s website.
However, there are countries that support the aggressor country. In particular, Russia supports the populations of India, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia and Vietnam.
It is noted that India and Vietnam partially rely on Russian weapons and have historical ties that go back to the Cold War.
In Egypt, 49% of respondents support Russians, and Ukraine is supported by 30% of citizens. The Economist recalled that Egypt will receive $1.3 billion from the United States in 2024. military assistance.
The publication also noted that there is concern about Saudi support for Russia. 37% of respondents strive for Russia’s victory in the war, and 19% of respondents support Ukraine. At the same time, Saudi Arabia plans to conclude a new military pact from the United States.
In addition, the results of the opinion poll showed that these five countries supporting the Russian Federation are striving to win the Republican Party candidate Donald Trump in the US presidential elections.
Let us recall that the Kiev International Institute of Sociology reported that 63% of Ukrainian citizens are ready to endure the continuation of the war as long as necessary. This is 10% less than in 2022 and 2023.
