An employee of the airport ground control found himself between the fuselage and a vehicle discharging the aircraft toilets.

At Helsinki-Vantaa Airport on October 2, a ground service employee died as a result of a workplace accident. This was reported by the Finnish publication Iltalehti.

It is known that the fatal accident happened while the plane, which was flying to the capital of Finland from Tokyo, was being pulled from a parking lot with a tractor.

An employee of the airport ground control found himself between the fuselage and a vehicle discharging the aircraft toilets. He was crushed and died.

The investigation continues to determine the cause of the accident that caused the man’s death.

According to the airport company Finavia, the deceased was an employee of the ground handling company Aviator Finland. The 61-year-old has worked as a ground worker at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport for many years and is also actively involved in the volunteer fire brigade and local rescue team.

Recall that in the city of Miyazaki (Japan), a World War II bomb exploded at the airport, as a result of which more than 80 flights were canceled.

Previously, Arlanda Airport near Stockholm (Sweden) stopped flights for several hours due to approaching unknown UAVs.
