The first reintegration center for military personnel released from captivity has opened in Ukraine.
The first healthcare institution in the Ministry of Defense system received the status of a reintegration center for military personnel released from captivity. This specialized complex operates in the central region. The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported this on November 2 in Telegram.
Here, defenders released from captivity are provided with the following assistance:
- medical;
- rehabilitation;
- psychological;
- carry out reintegration activities;
- help obtain certificates and restore documents.
Currently, the center has a capacity of 100 beds, but there is an opportunity to expand it to 200 or more by increasing the number of rehabilitation beds.
The head of the Municipal Educational Institution, Rustem Umerov, said that the department has already received the first proposals and wishes from military personnel and medical personnel. They will be taken into account by the Department of Health of the Ministry of Defense.
This is a new stage in our work, and we are improving it every day in cooperation with the Office of the President, the government and relevant departments,” the minister noted.
Let us remind you that on October 18, the 58th prisoner exchange took place – Ukraine returned 95 military personnel from Russian captivity. Soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard, Territorial Defense, border guards and police returned home. Among them are defenders of Mariupol and Azovstal, Donetsk region, Luhansk region, Kharkov region, Kiev region, Chernihiv region and Kherson region.
