Now everything possible is being done to avoid the application of consumption restrictions, the company assured.
Ukrenergo has not yet seen any reason to return blackout schedules in Ukraine. But electricity consumption will increase in the near future due to lower air temperature. The company announced this on Friday, November 1.
It is indicated that some media outlets have disseminated information about the likely application of hourly closing schedules in Ukraine as early as next week.
“At the moment, there are no grounds for introducing consumption restriction schedules for the population,” the statement said.
According to Ukrenergo, the drop in air temperature at the beginning of next week will actually lead to an increase in energy consumption.
“But whether it is necessary to use shutdowns (in particular, for household consumers) can only be predicted by NEC Ukrenergo, which did not give forecasts on the use of strict measures,” the energy sector gave- stress
The press service emphasized that currently Ukrenergo, together with the Ministry of Energy, regional military administrations and energy companies, is doing everything possible to avoid the use of consumption restrictions.
“We ask citizens to trust only official sources of information, and experts and officials of energy companies to refrain from comments beyond their competence,” added Ukrenergo.
We remind you that today Vladimir Velichko, a member of the supervisory board of Centrenergo, said that next week weather forecasters predict a drop in temperature, which will lead to an increase in electricity consumption. He suggested that blackout schedules might be involved.
After that, Centerenergo said that Velichko had expressed his personal opinion, and determining the closing schedules was Ukrenergo’s sole competence.
As you know, Ukrenergo is preparing several scenarios for the winter of 2024-2025 in Ukraine. They warned that it would be difficult.
We remind you that the National Security and Defense Council expects large-scale attacks on the Russian energy sector. The enemy may resume the attack at the beginning of the warm-up period.
